RW是一个比较受欢迎的网站，特别是在网上怀疑论者信息来源上被引用。二零一二年十一月，RW的流量已经上涨到每天32000人。^[1] 继二零一三年起，RW每月活跃编辑者700-1000名，编辑15000-30000次。^[2]

2013年以来，RW的Alexa级别（一个用处和准确度有限的指数）在网上第15000到第25000最红的网站之间。这意味着它每月大概迎接四百万访客。^[3]^[4]^[5]这意味着RW比许多其他的怀疑论网站，比如Quackwatch、^[6] Skeptoid、^[7]和Freethought Blogs，^[8]大，但比PolitiFact、Snopes等小。^[9]

评级网络资料可靠度网站Media Bias/Fact Check给RationalWiki很高的评级，^[10] 与维基百科^[11]在“报道可靠度”的评级相同（两个网站评级都是“高”）更具体地来说，这个分数意味着：^[12]

谁来编辑，谁做决定。因此，RW一定程度上遵循众愚政治。所有编辑了一段时间，有一点能力的用户都提拔降级为系统管理员。少数用户被社区选举为调解人。要辩论的话，最好的地方是相关文章的讨论页。

RationalMedia Foundation至今只有两次需要直接禁止一个人编辑此网站。RMF两次直接禁止用户是为了保护该组织不陷入法律问题，此权利仅在发表严重诽谤言论等重要问题时被使用。

RW受到了许多人的批评，包括反对我们内容的人和反对我们写作特点的人。常见的一种批评是”‘理智维基’并不理智“。没人认为自己不理智，所以有些会指责与他们观点不同的人不理智。一定程度上，RW也犯这个错：名字中的“理智”错误地暗示反对它的观点的人并不理智，所以有人会说这个名字有点不幸。

RW批评了一些政坛上出名的人，包括荣·保罗^[67]和艾茵·兰德。这些人的支持者会说，RW的观点不正确或不公平。不完整的文章也受到了批评。^[68] RW的评级系统试图解决质量不平整这个问题，但是该系统并不全面。

RW的风格也受到了批评。有些人说，RW的幽默感比较奇怪，也有人因RW讥笑他们眼中的理智主义理论表达不满。LessWrong的创始人艾黎吉亚·宇德科斯基认为，RW的理智主义不够坚硬，RW整体“无知”。^[69]
